“No-one Loves Me”

What must it be like to be living your life believing that no-one loves you?

I will never forget hearing a woman say these words to me “No-one loves me”.

It was in 2020, in the middle of lockdowns, and I was walking around a supermarket.

At one point I looked down an aisle and I saw a woman wearing a mask, and I knew in my heart that I have to walk over to her and say a few words.

As I got to the woman I simply said the words:

“Hi, God bless you. Jesus loves you.”

The woman was looking at me, showing no emotion, with a heaviness in her eyes, and she immediately responded:

“No-one loves me.”

I was not expecting this. I responded by assuring her that God loves her, even if she feels she has no-one currently in her life that loves her.

These first few words together opened up in to a longer conversation, where I asked the women about her current life circumstances and what led her to be living, believing that no-one loves her.

During our conversation I offered to share with her a few worship songs, so that she can continue gaining an understanding of the depth of God’s love for her. We connected on WhatsApp and after finishing our conversation I left the supermarket and got in my car.

I didn’t know why at the time, but earlier that day before I set off to the supermarket, I brought my laptop with me. Now sat in my car, reflecting on the conversation with the woman, I was led by the Holy Spirit to create a new page on my personal website, titled “What Next After Hearing That Jesus Loves You?”

This encounter had been the latest I had had with complete strangers, in all different life circumstances, since I started blessing people around 6 months after my baptism in June 2019.

How Many People That You See Each Day Are Actually Wearing A Mask?

Have you ever wondered about this? Have you ever considered that many people that you have seen during your life could at that time have been feeling lost, or helpless, or hopeless, or unloved or even unloveable?

Never, ever underestimate the life-changing impact you can have on the lives of complete strangers by simply being willing to show them unconditional love. You willingness to go over to them, to smile at them, to bless them, to share a few words of love to them - it could in fact be what God uses to save their life.
