Suicidal Man In His 20s Encounters Jesus At 777.7 Miles

There is a story of a man in his 20s. He works in a pub & restaurant just near to the Cotswolds. He was living his life wearing a mask to the people around him, particularly his colleagues. He had lost his mum when he was 8 years young, and in early August 2025 his relationship with his girlfriend had broken down.

Unbeknown to his friends and colleagues, Ethan was having huge battles in his mind, something he had been used to for many years. He was even having suicidal thoughts. He wasn’t sleeping properly, and he had no idea if there was a way out for him.

He had been raised in the Church of England, but from his early teenage years he hadn’t been going to church, and wasn’t living his life with any faith.

One evening this young man and his colleagues were serving customers in the restaurant. Around 8pm another customer came in and asked for a table for 1.

Later in the evening when the man and his colleagues were cleaning up before last orders, the customer who had come in around 8pm asked if he has a few minutes to talk. The man said “Yes sure”.

The customer started to share with the man that earlier that afternoon, as a man of faith, a “disciple of Jesus”, God had asked him to book an Airbnb room for 1 night, to break up a long day of driving. Of all the potential Airbnb’s the man could have booked on his 200 mile journey, he booked into a home a few minutes away from the restaurant and pub. The man then shared that out of different options available to get some dinner, God had asked him to come to this specific restaurant.

The customer offered a business card to the man, with the words on the back saying “Imagine The World With No Mental Health Issues”, along with his contact details.

The customer then briefly shared that he was saved by Jesus 6 years earlier aged 41, having not been raised in a religious family. The customer emphasised that he is not religious, that he isn’t someone who goes to church on a Sunday then thinks he is better than anyone else. He emphasised that he did nothing to deserve being saved by Jesus - it was only by God’s Grace.

He openly explained that for over 20 years he struggled, whilst wearing a mask to the world, with poor mental health, and around 10 years ago he was on the verge of committing suicide by jumping off a 23-storey balcony.

On hearing this the man was absolutely stunned, knowing the battles in his mind he has been so used to having. He briefly shared about losing his mum when he was 8, how he has recently split with his girlfriend, and how he has been having serious issues in his mind and feeling helpless.

The customer said to him that he expects he has been struggling to sleep at night, to which he confirmed that was the case.

The customer told him that it was only when he had hit absolute rock bottom 6 years ago, when he was helpless and hopeless, that he suddenly had the revelation that God is real, God loves him, Jesus is the Son of God, and that Jesus surrendered His life to save the mans life. The customer told the man that he has been chosen by God, that he is loved, and that God has got a plan and a purpose for his life.

The customer explained that not only has he had a very good meal this evening, but he has come a divine assignment into the mans life, at the perfect time. The customer emphasised that everything he has been sharing is the truth, and that the man is coming into the whole truth, which is Jesus.

The customer asked if he could embrace him, which he was happy to. The customer looked him in the eyes and said “God loves you and I love you”.

Shortly after leaving the restaurant, the customer came back in and found the man cleaning the table he was on. He told the man “I’ve just got in my car and when I turned the ignition on, I saw what mileage I was on since I reset it when I last filled my petrol up. Let me show you, I’ve taken a photo of it.”

The customer showed the man his phone, with a photo of his dashboard, and the number 777.77 miles since the trip was last reset.

The customer confirmed to the man that 7 stands for Biblical perfection.

Perfection Perfection Perfection Perfection Perfection.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
