Stage 4 Cancer, 1 Lung Removed, And THEN This?
There's a story about a woman in her 70s called Linda. She had been married for 50 years to her husband, Anthony. They have one daughter.
A few years ago, Anthony suddenly disappeared. He left a message for his wife Linda to say that he's going to New York. Out of the blue, he returned home, but what started to become clear is that Anthony had been subjected to a major scam and fraud, and he had actually been taking all of their life savings and he had been sending them to someone else, without knowing it was a scam and he had been deceived.
From this, his behavior became more and more erratic, and Linda and Anthony became estranged. Anthony has been living in a one bedroom flat, hardly eating, and if anyone has tried to speak to him and to help him see the error of his ways, he would get angry and he would erupt, refusing to listen.
Linda, understandably, had been absolutely distraught. Not only that, she had been diagnosed with cancer, and she had been having different cancer treatments, but the cancer spread.
Linda had to have one of her lungs removed because of the cancer.
Linda had been told that she has got stage four cancer and that it is terminal.
Linda’s daughter didn’t want to know her, and some of Linda’s friend had told her “good riddance” about her husband, yet Linda couldn’t stop caring and empathising with the state that her husband was in. Linda was living alone and believing her life is coming to an end.
One day in August 2025, Linda planned to have a drive out to a beautiful place to sit and reflect on her life circumstances. She planned to set off the following morning.
The following morning, Linda, physically and emotionally tired along with having limited mobility following her recent major surgery, got in her car to drive out. When she turned her engine on, warning lights came on to say that her tyres needed air in. The day before that when she had used her car, the tyre pressures were absolutely fine and therefore there were no warning lights on.
Linda drove to a Tesco Extra in Yoevil, to the petrol station where they have a tyre pressure facility. Linda, physically and emotionally depleted and finding it incredibly difficult to bend down, took off the 4 tyre valve dust caps.
Linda was not looking forward to having to bend down to put air in her tyres.
She had a pound coin in her hand, and she was preparing herself to go through some pain and discomfort, bending down to inflate her tyres to the correct pressure.
Just as she was about to put the £1 in the machine, Linda saw a man pull in behind her car and get out of his car. Linda and this man looked at each other and smiled, and said hello to each other.
The man was walking towards the tyre pressure machine. Linda was intrigued as to what the man was doing, and the man said to her, “I'm just coming to pick up my caps that I left yesterday when I inflated my tyres!”
Linda thought to ask this man whether he would kindly help her inflate her tyres to the correct pressure? She asked the man, sharing that she just recently had one of her lungs removed because of cancer, and she was finding it incredibly difficult to bend down
This man obliged.
After putting his tyre caps back on his four wheels, the man took the £1 coin from Linda, and asked what tyre pressure her tyres should be.
Linda replied by saying,
“33, every tyre should be 33”.
The man got the tyre pressure holder and started to go round to each of the four tyres.
With Linda watching and continuing to show her appreciation, the man put the nozzle in the 1st tyre value.
The 1st tyre pressure was 28, 5 less than it should.
Following the machine bleeping to say that the correct tyre pressure had now been reached, the man moved to the 2nd tyre.
The 2nd tyre pressure was 28, 5 less than it should.
Following the machine bleeping to say that the correct tyre pressure had now been reached, the man moved to the 3rd tyre.
The 3rd tyre pressure was 28, 5 less than it should.
At this point the man asked Linda:
“Do you know the significance of the number 33?”
Linda replied, saying “We used to live at number 33.”
The man then added:
“Also, Jesus Christ surrendered His life on the cross for you, me and everyone upon the Earth, when He was 33”.
Linda replied by saying:
“Oh wow yes, that is absolutely right.”
The man moved to the 4th tyre.
The 4th tyre pressure was 28, 5 less than it should.
The tyre pressure of all 4 tyres was precisely 28. What were the chances?
On completion of the 4 tyres, the man explained how God had ordained and orchestrated this coming together, that it wasn't by chance, it wasn't by coincidence. He explained about how usually he puts the dust caps in his back pocket when he is doing his tyres, but yesterday, as the dust caps were very dirty, he instead put them on top of the machine. It was only because of this that he had come back that morning.
Linda shared about her estranged husband, and the man prayed for her husband to experience freedom in Christ, and that all demonic oppression is coming to an end.
Linda shared with this man that she has stage four cancer. On hearing this, the man looked intently into Linda’s eyes and said, “In the name of Jesus, I declare and decree that your body is being healed of cancer, that those cancerous cells are shrivelling up and dying. I speak divine health over your whole body.”
As Linda was looking into this man's eyes, he also said to her, “I speak Isaiah 65 verse 20 over you, “You will not be considered old at 100.”
The man then said to Linda, “Your time is not coming to an end.”
Hearing these words brought tears to Linda’s eyes.
She asked the man if they could hug, to which the man said, “Absolutely”.
Linda then said “It's amazing how much you realize that you need God.”
Linda said to the man, “You are a true saint.”
Following a few more words spoken, Linda and the man embraced again, and then Linda, looking at the man, said,
“You're my savior!”
…to which the man replied, humbly and in love,
“No, Jesus Christ is your Savior.”
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9
You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
