The Other One In The Fire

We’ve all had times during our life when we have been in the fire.

As you are reading this you may be in the fire.

You may be wondering how you are going to come out of the fire.

You may have just recently come out of the fire, and you have been reflecting on what you have experienced.

You may have a deep down knowing that your life is about to become more challenging in one or more ways… you may be bracing yourself for going in to the fire.

Here are just a few examples of fires I have been in during my life so far…

  • almost being caught in the act of adultery with a married women by her husband, following the woman having groomed me over the previous 3 years since I was 12 years young

  • whilst excitedly starting to prepare to become parents, my wife having her 12 week scan and being told that she is having a miscarriage, leaving us shocked, numb and wondering whether this means we can start a family

  • facing in to the potential of having to make some of my team redundant in the New Year, due to a severe lack of sales in the final few months of that particular year

  • standing on a luxury apartment balcony in Vancouver, Canada, about 23 stories high, and being on the verge of committing suicide, leaving behind my wife and our 2 young daughters

As I reflect back on these particular moments of being in the fire, and as you potentially reflect back on times when you have been in the fire, do you know that in each and every fire you have ever been in, there was another in the fire with you?

Yes, going all the way back through your entire life, in every single fire, through every single trial and tribulation, in the darkest valleys, in the deepest trauma, there has always been another in the fire with you.

Here is a song that hit me deeply when I first heard it. It may hit you deeply too.

He is for you and not against you.

He will never leave you nor forsake you.

He loves you, and I love you.
